Starring Trace and youngest daughter Trinity Adkins, the video (directed by Trey Fanjoy) will go into music network rotation on TV the following week and available for download on iTunes.

“Just Fishin’” is a particularly touching ballad from an artist whose famously imposing stature hides a heart of gold. The video, showing a day in the life of Trace and Trinity on the lake, is as nostalgic as it is inspiring. This is the first single from Trace’s upcoming album – info to be announced – which will be released by Show Dog – Universal Music in August 2011.
The former roughneck turned Country star, television personality and actor is an outspoken straight-shooter who stands up for his beliefs and wears his love for his family, his country and the military on his sleeve. As his latest single and upcoming album will attest, his passions are reflected in song selections that range from rowdy rockers to earnestly heartfelt.
Also today, CMT’s Next Superstar 109, featuring Adkins as artist advisor, will air at 9:00 p.m., ET/PT. In this episode the top two contestants go head to head at the Ryman Auditorium. Each perform a song of their choice, a judge’s pick, and a song from the record label, Warner Music. Then for the first time, CMT turns voting over to America to decide who will become CMT’s NEXT SUPERSTAR.
Earlier this week, Trace Adkins performed in his home state of Louisiana at the Bayou Country Superfest. The performance was recorded for a Memorial Day special broadcast to a million men and women on military bases around the world via American Forces Network Television and AFN Radio networks. Other featured artist performances included Billy Currington, Jason Michael Carroll, Josh Thompson, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan , Lee Brice, Sugarland, Tim McGraw and Zac Brown Band were recorded for the two hour television program and accompanying radio broadcast.
